big person problems (poetry)
the burns and they burn
sizzle under the heat
always flushed and suffocating
holding back this tongue that is always lashing back and forth in my mouth
silence is golden
but I think my words will make them golden
my words will bake them, paint them with egg yolk and burn them golden
be the bigger person
my growth has been stunted by kindness
I have been taking it the wrong way
my head buzzes when they’re gone
I hit home run in an emptied stadium;
comeback too late
my hands grow larger than homes and my feet larger than domes
I trample on them just by living
the city in ashes
I want it all
I am the bigger person
and I will cast a shadow on you inescapable
